FFP2 respirators are required for health care workers and people in contact with the general public not wearing masks to protect against airborne infection during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The particle filter half-mask covers the nose, mouth and chin. It consists entirely of filter material. It is designed to provide a satisfactory seal against the surrounding air on the wearer’s face, when the skin is dry or wet and when the wearer’s head moves. Air enters the halfmask which filters the particles and flows directly to the nose and mouth region. The exhaled air is discharged through the filter material directly into the ambient atmosphere. These devices are designed to protect against solid and liquid aerosols (aerosols are gaseous suspensions of solid and/or liquid particles).
The product consists of a mask body, a plastic nose clip and a mask strap. The covering is made up of five layers of filter material, from the inside to the outside: skin-friendly spunbond layer, two layers of melt-blown layer, skin-friendly spunbond layer, waterproof spunbond layer; the nose clip is made of flexible plastic.
